Benefiting Operation BBQ Relief a 501.c.3 Disaster Relief organization.
The 11th Annual Smokin on Big Creek BBQ contest benefiting Operation BBQ Relief will be held March 23rd-March 24th in Pleasant Hill, MO at the Cass County Fairgrounds again this year. Smokin On Big Creek has been a charitable contest benefiting several different non-profits over the years donating approx $40,000 to charities, hundreds of pounds of meat to the Pleasant Hill Meals on Wheels and thousands of pounds of nonperishable food items for the Pleasant Hill Lay Clergy Food Pantry. Again this year volunteers with Operation BBQ Relief will be helping put on the contest! Our prize pot is guaranteed at $7500. As we get over 40 teams we will update the prize pot. We have averaged $10,000 prize money for the 4 KCBS categories that last couple years. Then you add side categories and kids que we have paid out much more.
On our 11th year we would like to have the largest supply drive for Operation BBQ Relief that we have had. We are asking each team, judge, visitor to bring an item off this list.
Supply Drive Items
1- Banquet Packs (knife, fork, spoon and napkin) box of 200 at Sams Club $17
2 – Large and Xlarge Nitrile/Latex gloves $8-10 a box.
3 – Cotton Gloves
4 – Large Rolls (Heavy Duty) of 18″x500′ aluminum foil $20 a box at sams clib
5 – Clorox wipes package of 3 at Sams club
6 – Rolls of paper towels -15 rolls for $17 at sams club
7 – 55 gallon trash bags
8 – Three compartment clamshells
9 – Spray degreaser like Grease Lightning
10- Large aluminum pans
Texas Holdem fundraising tournament Friday Night as well as a Wing Night. The Texas Holdem tournament is $40 to enter but includes food and drinks for the players. The tournament is a 50/50 payout 50 % of the fees to Operation BBQ Relief and 50% to the top 3 players. For $15 and 5 non-pershible food items ($20 without the food items) people will be able to come out and try 3 different types of wings, pulled pork nachos and smoked fish tacos as well as drinks and watch the poker tournament. We will also have a raffle for a Vision Grill, Fire Pit, Grilling Baskets and more. Come out Friday Night for some fun for charity. The event will be in the Miller Lite Pavilion. Player check in starts at 5:30 pm. Food is from 6-8 pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance at https://operationbbqrelief.org/store/

$235 entry includes the 4 KCBS categories, 2 breakfast tickets, electricity, 25x30 ft space and (1) 15amp connection – If you will not fit in a 25x30 ft space you will need to add on the extra spot for $75 that will give you an additional 15 ft. Returning Teams you will have until March 1st to be guaranteed your space back.

* The amount of money paid in both the Dessert and Kid’s Q goes to the payout for each, the more teams participating the more the payout will increase.
